自我介绍

"I am a retired secondary school teacher having spent over 30 years teaching in the Peel Board. I primarily taught English and Drama, and was the Curricular Head of the Arts for over 15 years.  I was a member of many committees including the Literacy Committee, Climate for Learning and Working Committee and the Assessment and Evaluation Committee.  I was chair of the Commencement Committee and co-chair of the Awards Assembly Committee.  I was co-creator and steering committee member of Critical Thinking Through the Arts, a board-wide symposium for students providing them an opportunity to develop their critical thinking skills.  I was also part of the Review Team for the Arts curriculum at the Ministry as well as the Roll-out Committee.

I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential.  I believe in fostering a learning environment where students can feel comfortable to take risks and make mistakes.  It is through making mistakes that we learn and grow and become resilient.  Further, I create a learning environment where students can learn to be creative problem solvers as they strengthen the pathways between both sides of the brain.  I focus on critical thinking skills and the students’ ability to actively engage in vigorous debate about “big ideas”.  I believe in student-centered, differentiated instruction, based on students’ individual needs.

I look forward to working with your child and helping them to grow academically, mentally and emotionally so that they can be creative, confident, life-long learners."
