He is currently a full-time Ph.D. candidate in the ECE department at the University of Waterloo, where he has demonstrated his exceptional academic abilities with an impressive average grade of 90.33%. Ahmed's research interests are focused on Deep Learning Optimization and Deployment, and he has published his work in top journals and conferences in his research area. In addition to his research, Ahmed is a passionate educator who is dedicated to inspiring and guiding the next generation of computer scientists. He has completed the Fundamentals of University Teaching Program and is currently enrolled in the Certificate in University Teaching (CUT) Program, which has given him a strong foundation in teaching principles and pedagogy. Ahmed has also worked as a student researcher at Bell Labs at Nokia in Belgium, where he collaborated with Dr. Haris Gacanin, Department Head at Nokia Bell Labs, on the topic of "Artificial Intelligence Driven Indoor Networks Design and Optimization". During this time, Ahmed used NS3 as a simulator and implemented different algorithms using C++/python. This experience has further enriched his knowledge and understanding of cutting-edge technologies and their applications. As a Teaching Assistant for various courses such as ME123, GENE123, MTE220, and ECE318, Ahmed has honed his skills in assisting students in understanding complex concepts, designing experiments, and analyzing data.
